I live in Illinois and have tried every product and means to quit smoking. A disabled woman who has difficult time traveling. Is there anywhere in Chicago that has this clinic in my area? There is no doubt in my mind that I am slowly killing myself smoking and need help.

This “shot” therapy depending on what is used has a 40-80% success rate. Many times higher than any other method. However, it’s cost 300-$500 is not covered by insurance. Insurance companies pick up the tab for related illness but won’t cover a proven method to stop? A big part of the problem.
I was recently diagnosed with AEL and on chemo. I was a complete idiot and did not start smoking until I was 30, I’m now 34. I really want to stop, having cancer and smoking is just stupid. However, Chantix, patches, gum etc., have all failed to stop the urge and being this position I have no extra money to spare.
A catch 22 for sure. Any info on how I can get the shot and stop smoking but not $500, let me know? I’m doing the countdown method on my own and I’m down to 7 a day but it’s a struggle to say the least and I don’t know if I can stop completely with nothing more than will-power.
